A charming tale of love and loss, with a whole lot of silliness in between, Philomina is a lonely widow who gets one last opportunity to say goodbye to her husband before he moves on to the next life. Her adventures take her on a magical voyage through an unfamiliar land- where things aren’t always quite what they seem…

Combining storytelling, puppetry, and live music, this heart-warming new show asks what would you say if you could speak to the person you loved, one last time?

The Dreams of Philomina toured nationally to sell out audiences in 2011

Look out for Lunabug theatre at a venue near you! The Dreams of Philomina will be touring again in Spring/Summer 2013.

Press:

The show works on two levels; yielding plenty of effective, if often-simple visuals, and silliness to keep younger theatre goers occupied, but with a serious heart that brought a tear to the eye of this adult. These industrious actresses have the makings of a gentle family hit about love and loss. All in all, fitting stuff for this intimate little Sheffield theatre.

Audience comments:

A moving story, beautifully told, that made me happy and sad. [The] kids loved it too.

Absolutely magical and perfectly presented, great blend of reality/unreality, and coverage of such important topics in life.

The emotive music and creative puppetry engrossed the audience throughout. Two superb performances from enthusiastic and talented young actors. This is a great show for all the family.
